We’re proud to announce that we’ve signed the Armed Forces Covenant. Strengthening our commitment to supporting members of the armed forces community, including veterans and their families.

By joining over 12,000 UK businesses in making this pledge, we’re reinforcing our dedication to valuing the unique skills and experiences that service personnel bring to our team.

On November 6th, our Managing Director, Edward Pigg, signed the covenant at our Northamptonshire office, marking an important milestone in our journey. This pledge highlights our respect for the sacrifices made by servicemen and women and our focus on helping them transition smoothly into meaningful civilian careers.

“At Axil, we’re thinking about the needs of veterans every step of the way,” Edward shared. “We’re here to support them as they build meaningful careers beyond their service. Our commitment to ex-service men and women aligns with our dedication to listening, adapting, and supporting our clients. It’s an honour to make this pledge public, ensuring those who have served feel valued within our organisation.”

We welcomed Kirstie Parker, Deputy Employer Engagement Director from the Ministry of Defence, to witness the signing, alongside two of our team members with military backgrounds—Kathy Warfield, who served in the RAF, and Mark Downes. Who served in the Army. Kirstie commented, “It was a pleasure to see Axil sign the Armed Forces Covenant and make this simple pledge: that Armed Forces personnel and their families should not be disadvantaged by their service. I look forward to working closely with them in the future.”

We’re proud to employ ex-military personnel who bring a wealth of skills and values to our organisation. From engineering and IT to logistics and operations, our team benefits from the leadership, resilience, and organisational strengths that veterans bring.

“Leaving the military after six years was daunting, but the skills I gained—leadership, organisation, resilience—were invaluable. Axil saw my potential, and today, I lead teams across the UK. It feels like I’m making a real difference, with colleagues who share a sense of purpose.”

Through the Armed Forces Covenant, we’re offering veterans work placements, mentoring, and guaranteed interview schemes, ensuring they have access to supportive opportunities as they transition into civilian careers.

We deliver tailored waste management solutions across the UK, serving critical sectors like aerospace, automotive, food, manufacturing, and pharmaceuticals. Our goal is to help businesses minimise waste, optimise recycling rates, reduce costs, and exceed sustainability targets—all while fostering a culture of teamwork, integrity, and innovation.

Signing the Armed Forces Covenant is more than a promise; it’s a reflection of who we are as a company. We’re honoured to support veterans and their families and look forward to seeing the positive impact of this commitment on our organisation and community.
