Axil has achieved ISO 14064 Certification through the Toitū/Achilles Carbon Reduce programme – a globally recognised carbon verification and reduction standard. This standard is accepted by governments, regulators, certification bodies, and investment communities worldwide.

What This Means for Our Customers and Stakeholders
- Full Confidence in Data: Our greenhouse gas (GHG) data and reporting are independently verified to a globally recognised standard.
- Climate Leadership: This certification demonstrates our proactive approach to managing climate risk and driving carbon efficiency.
- Transparent Commitments: It shows our dedication to clear, open communication on emissions targets and reduction performance over time.
Progress on Our Carbon Reduction Pathway
We’ve made significant advances in our sustainability journey:
- 100% Renewable Energy: Both of our sites transitioned to 100% renewable electricity by 2024.
- Low-Emission Fleet: In April 2025, we completed the transition of our HGV fleet to HVO (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil), achieving over 90% reduction in GHG emissions.
- Carbon-Saving Logistics: Our “direct disposal” logistics project has already saved over 59 tonnes of CO₂ and continues to reduce emissions across operations.
Why It Matters
- Trusted Reporting – Independent verification gives you full confidence in the data we share.
- Sustainability in Action – We’re helping you meet your own goals by reducing our footprint.
- Smarter Operations – Our efficiency benefits your whole value chain impacts
- Industry Leadership – Very few UK waste companies hold ISO 14064, demonstrating Axil’s commitment to lead in our sector (see also Axils EcoVadis Gold award).
This latest certification joins our existing ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 certifications – reinforcing our all-round commitment to quality, environmental protection, and health & safety.
