What is hazardous waste?

Hazardous waste can contain dangerous substances which could be flammable toxic, corrosive, carcinogenic or ecotoxic. The waste may pose a risk to the public and environmental safety and health. These risks mean hazardous waste should always be handled and disposed of by experts.

We are flexible and can handle most waste types, even those not typically suited for treatment or recycling.

There are various types of waste that a business may need to dispose of, this can be anywhere from contaminated packaging, lab waste or redundant chemicals no longer needed. In addition, waste may be produced from process such as filter cakes, line washings or air pollution control residues. All hazardous waste, no matter the process involved, must be disposed of correctly and efficiently.

HazPods™ exclusive to Axil

Our HazPods are a cost-effective solution which ensure compliance with all waste disposal legislation. HazPods can be used as primary containment for oil contaminated rags, PPE and Spillsorb.

Each has a secure, lockable lid to prevent rainwater ingress and also to ensure that all wastes are contained within the HazPod™ in a safe manner. The HazPod™ also has forklift pockets to offer options on handling methods.

The key benefit to using a HazPod™ is that multiple hazardous waste streams can be collected in one container, provided different categories are appropriately bagged. This reduces the number & type of containers as well as reducing repacking of hazardous wastes.
