Axil has been named among the UK’s 150 fastest-growing companies in the inaugural Financial Times and Statista ranking, recognising the strength of its growth as it expands its waste and resource management operations across the UK and Ireland.
The FT UK’s Fastest-Growing Companies 2027 ranking recognises businesses that achieved the strongest revenue growth between 2022 and 2025.
For Axil, the recognition reflects significant growth in a market where businesses are facing increasingly complex challenges around waste, resource use, cost, compliance and environmental performance.
Since 2018, Axil has grown from 35 employees to more than 300, supporting almost 300 customers across the UK and Ireland, with a 29.98% CAGR.
Its growth is built on a different approach to waste management, combining on-site expertise, specialist capability and data to reduce waste and cost while unlocking resource value.
Rather than simply collecting and disposing of waste, Axil works alongside customer teams to understand what is happening on site and optimise operations.
This can include improving segregation, reducing unnecessary collections, increasing material recovery, managing hazardous waste and using operational data to identify further opportunities.

Paul Jezzard, CFO at Axil, said:
“Being recognised by the Financial Times is a significant milestone for Axil, particularly in the first UK ranking of its kind. What matters to us is what sits behind the growth.
“We have built the business around a simple idea: complex waste operations need more than a collection service. Customers want people who understand their operation, can see where things can be improved and can turn data and expertise into practical action.
“That approach has helped us grow alongside some of the UK and Ireland’s leading manufacturing and industrial businesses. We have built a strong platform, but there is still a lot more to do.”
Investing in people, technology and operational capability
Axil’s growth has been supported by continued investment in its people, technology and operational capability.

Axil Labs is a suite of applications that combines operational data, management insight and carbon modelling to give customers a clearer view of waste performance. Its new Management Information and analytics capability goes beyond reporting, bringing together data on volumes, costs, compliance and final destinations to identify opportunities and turn insight into practical operational improvements.
The recognition follows Axil being named in the FT 1000: Europe’s Fastest-Growing Companies 2026, where it climbed 175 places in its second consecutive appearance.
The inaugural FT UK’s Fastest-Growing Companies ranking has been produced by the Financial Times in partnership with Statista, with the print special report scheduled for publication on 15 October 2026.
