Since 2019, we have partnered with Community Wood Recycling (CWR), transforming lives and making a tangible environmental impact.
Together, we’ve turned waste into opportunity, saving resources while supporting individuals in marginalised communities.
Our Impact (2025:
- Paid roles created: Increased from 10+ to 13+.
- Wood recirculated: Grew from 863 tonnes to 1,164 tonnes.
- Directly reused: Rose from 119 tonnes to 153 tonnes.
- Reprocessed: Increased from 40 tonnes to 55 tonnes.
- Recycled: Expanded from 704 tonnes to 955 tonnes.
- Carbon saved: Jumped from 430 tonnes to 580 tonnes. This is like driving around the Earth 85 times!
Creating Value Beyond the Numbers
This collaboration isn’t just about recycling wood, it’s about rebuilding lives. Every tonne collected provides work, training, and the chance for individuals to regain confidence, camaraderie, and pride in their achievements.
CWR work with local people, bringing men and women who are marginalised into a supportive workplace. They become part of the team and gain training and work experience as well as a sense of pride. This initiative allows people to flourish, moving from social isolation, loneliness and lack of confidence to paid work, shared achievements and the sense of camaraderie that comes from working together to help the environment.
