National Apprenticeship Week: Digital Marketing Level 3

I began my role with Axil in July 2022, I enrolled on a digital marketing apprenticeship with QA. Before I started at Axil I didn’t have any experience in digital marketing or in the waste background but it is something that I have really enjoying doing and found a lot of interest in. My role at Axil is to support the head of marketing in various different tasks such as social post, blogs and internal Comms, etc.

I chose an apprenticeship because I think it is a great way to learn a new job role, it helps me to get experiences in digital marketing and learn off the people around me as well as getting qualifications along the way. Being more hands on with the work that I am learning about helps me to get used to the skills and be better at them.

So far I have found that the experience is great for learning more about digital marketing and in a faster, easier and more productive way. I have also found that from my apprenticeship I haven’t just leant digital marketing skills I have learnt many more skills such as communication, teamwork, self-confidence etc, I see these skill getting better with time as well.

The balance between apprenticeship work and work in my actual role is normal handled very well, Axil and QA are very supportive in helping me get the best results in all work I do and I have a percentage of time I can take out of my week that I can dedicate to any coursework that is needing done.

The pros of being an apprentice is that you can learn of the people around you and gain experience, in my role all the people around me are very experienced and are always showing me new ways of doing things and just giving me support where they. Another pro of being a apprentice is that you can get qualification that you need well doing the job, this gives you more experience and I think it helps you to understand the skills you are learning on your course so much better.

I hope to stay doing digital marketing in my future career as I am really enjoying it at the moment, I hope to get more qualification in the future and to build up more knowledge on it. My apprenticeship has already given me the start I needed and once I have finished it I will then be in a position to learn given more about digital marketing and move up in job roles.

I would highly recommend an apprenticeship to anyone, it is a great way to get started in any job role.
